Founder Toneka L. Finch was born in Atlanta, GA and was relocated to Miami, FL at only 3-months. She grew up with her maternal grandmother while her biological mother battled a dual diagnosis of schizophrenia and Substance Abuse until her death. Despite all the adversity, Toneka was able to complete her High school education at Miami Central Senior High and is currently furthering her education in Psychology at Miami, FL only HBCU Florida Memorial Universit. During Toneka’s brief period of being a single mother she embraced the calling of working with families that have involvement with the Department of children and Families. While working to prevent children from being removed from their parents Restoring Our Positive Environment Corp was birthed. ROPE was formed to fill the gap that is left when families have involvement with DCF/CPS and are unsure what to do moving forward. Since forming her organization Toneka has volunteered a several event’s, assisted families obtaining custody of their relatives children so that they are not lost in the system, and also helping children who are already in foster homes, and preparing them for adulthood. Toneka tries to make a difference by making sure that with every person she comes into contact with she will attempt to make a difference in their life. Knowing that even though she cannot save everyone, the simple fact she tried is what makes her fill fulfilled in life and in her goal to help others.
